Pietradolce winery, located on the Etna Volcano in Sicily, Italy, has been recognized as a Top 100 winery by Wine & Spirits. Their Barbagalli wines have received the highest scores from respected wine critics like James Suckling, Decanter, and Robert Parker.
However, Michele Faro, the founder of Pietradolce, is not focused on the awards. Winemaking is in his blood - he fondly calls himself a patient farmer. Back in 2005, when Michele began making wine, Etna region wasn't known for winemaking. It took more than 10 years to produce high-quality wines and build a reputation for the region and the winery. Recently, the popular TV show White Lotus filmed its second season in Sicily around Etna, attracting a considerable number of visitors to the area.
This episode can be enjoyed by anyone. Wine professionals can pick up insights from Michele's journey. It is equally suitable for wine lovers who want to learn more about the uniqueness of Etna region wines.
Additionally, this Pietradolce episode has a second part that you can watch on YouTube. It features a video of me spending a day picking grapes at Pietradolce vineyard. It was a hard, very hard, but lots of fun.
This episode was produced by Play4n4, with music by Cyan Lu. Video and audio by Tiauliau.
